What's in your CD player right now?
I keep a few favorites in my CD player.  I have a Celtic group of women singers. A 2 CD set of the Eagles and Mozart.  Sound eclectic?  Maybe just different.  I also like Tchaikovsky.

What did you want to be when you grew up?
I always wanted to be a singer in a musical. I fancied myself singing in all of the Rogers and Hammerstein musicals. I planned to be the female lead in "South Pacific," "Carousel," "Camelot," "The Sound of Music," and "The Wizard of Oz." Years later, I decided I couldn't take the travel, so I became a music teacher.

What's something you've learned about God that has surprised you?
I think it's important to remember that God is always surprising us and asking us to dig deeper into our faith.  Unfortunately, we never "arrive" until the end.  Meanwhile, we are constantly striving to love more, understand more, and reach out to others in ways that connect them with God.

What are you reading right now?
I'm getting ready to read Templars & Knights.

What book that has impacted you?
My favorite ministry book is Breathing Spaces by Heidi Newmark. She's a Lutheran Vicar who begins her ministry with a parish in the South Bronx. As she learns about ministry, struggles to unite a radically diverse church, and raises her children, she finds  blessing in the service to God. Her struggles include a husband who'd rather raise their children elsewhere, a building that was determined to fall, and the drug use that debilitated the neighborhood. Through it all, Newmark was able to see places of grace for living.
